The cover art for multiple of the initial Spent Poets releases is credited to The Bone Factory which appears to made up of John Berg, Adam Gates, and Derek Greenberg.
The Bone Factory released at least two versions of a fractal program (MandleAcid 1.0 and 2.0) and at least eight sets of Macintosh icons (Bone-Factory, BONE_FACTORY_VOL_III, BONE_FACTORY_7.0_FOLDERS, BONES-FEMURS_AND_SKULLS, HELLISH, LOOK_MA_NEW_BONES, M_U_T_A_T_E and W_I_L_D_B_O_N_E_S).
The credits for MandleAcid 1.0 read "Derek Greenberg 6/93". The credits for MandleAcid 2.0 read "12/93, Concept and Programming by Derek Greenberg, Artwork and Design by Adam Gates."
As late as June of 1995, they were still posting to USENET and listing all three people as making up The Bone Factory. For example, this posting. Email addresses appear to have been: John Berg <iconmaster@aol.com>, Adam Gates <aliackbar@aol.com>, and Derek Greenberg <megaloid@aol.com>.
