Week 7 - Monday 4/22/1991 Finishing Up "Dogtown". We arrived at the studio bleary eyed and incoherent. Gates worked on his vocal track for "Dogtown" from 10:30 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Considering that he truly hated the song, it was a heroic effort. Nevertheless, when he was done with the vocals, he announced to everybody that he would fight to have the song excised from the album. Winegar joined him for the "Hello hello hello" parts during the chorus and quickly overdubbed some Emax II French horns. To save time, Wallace sampled one chorus of "Hello hello hello" and laid it over the remaining choruses. He declared the song complete and everybody went home. |
