Puig and Wallace set up Puig's esoteric studio rack gear and tested signal paths throughout the control room. The Drum Doctor arrived to offer Urbano percussion rental options. Come evening, Puig and Wallace began the laborious task of testing microphones and outboard pre-amps.

Author's note: The band explored the studio grounds while the tech work progressed. Winegar discovered a Nintendo machine and TV in a separate lounge building. As the weeks wore on, he could often be found alone in the lounge, playing Tetris for hours and racking up huge scores.
